As you might know if you are already a Neticle Media Intelligence user, our social listening service has been country-based from the start. What this means is that our search terms, or keywords, as we call them, have always been associated with a certain country, collecting results from a given geographical region.
So, if you wanted to check the reputation of your company or brand in multiple countries, separate keywords had to be created for each, and then results could be compared in one place, within the same charts. This approach works well in the majority of cases, since big brands usually have separate marketing & communication teams, budgets and campaigns for each country or region they’re present in. They also measure their effectiveness on a regional basis, and they often have different competitors in each country that they need to follow.
However, measuring brand awareness on a global level and understanding reputation changes following global expansion can also be important in some cases, which is why we have just added global keywords as a new feature in Neticle Media Intelligence. Don’t worry, country-based keywords are not going anywhere - but you can now decide which approach works best for your case specifically. Or, you could always use them in parallel, and compare local and global results in one chart!
Here we've collected reviews from a hotel's site on Booking.com. As you can see, reviews in different languages are displayed together in the feed view, all of them analyzed in their own language.
These global keywords will only collect mentions of your brand from social media, but not from local news sites or application reviews. They are perfect for feedback channels where users leave comments in many different languages, such as Tripadvisor, Booking.com or Google Locations. These need to be set up as own channels, which is already a familiar process for our users.
The new keywords will be compatible with all of Neticle’s available languages (you can check current availability here), while hits from currently unsupported languages will not undergo text analysis and will receive a sentiment score of zero.
We’re excited to start measuring your online presence using global indexes provided by Neticle!
