Mentions in NMI are the text based data that we collect for the keyword. A mention can be an article, a Facebook post or comment, or an app review - anything that is collected and displayed on the portal is referred to as a ‘mention’.
To explain what a mention generally looks like on the portal and what each icon means surrounding a mention, we’ll go through two examples: one social media (Facebook) mention and one article mention.
1. Social media - Facebook mention
- The keyword
- Source type - sub content type
- Author’s name (if available)
- Date and time of posting
- Language
- Importance score
- Potential reach (calculated using interaction and follower data)
- Like count
- Share count
- Comment count
- Reaction count (in this case, Facebook love reactions)
- Engagement rate (interaction/follower number)
- URL of the mention
- Automatically recognized labels (more on these here)
- Sentiment score (more on this here)
2. News - Article mention
- The keyword
- Source type - sub content type (in case of news mentions, the only sub content type available is ‘aggregator’)
- Author
- Date and time of publishing
- Language
- Importance score
- URL
- Estimated Reach (only available for article mentions - frontpage mentions do not have reach data available)
- Automatically recognized labels (more on these here)
- Sentiment score (more on this here)
